Demonstration Room
The Demonstration Room below the Flett Theatre in the Natural History Museum was used for most meetings of the Quekett Microscopical Club in 2014 and 2015 while the the Dorothea Bate Room was not available, and it may be used occasionally in the future.
Directions from Exhibition Road
It is much easier to reach the Demonstration Room from the public entrance on Exhibition Road than from the main entrance on Cromwell Road, and at busy times the queue is normally shorter.

After the detour for security checks, go up the short flights of stairs to the main gallery with the escalator ahead of you. Immediately turn left and go up the next two flights to the first floor.

At the top of this staircase and to the left is the foyer to the Flett Theatre, behind 2 large glass doors.

Go through these glass doors and diagonally across the foyer to the wooden door below the clock.

This wooden door has a Yale lock which should have the catch in the open position. Go through this door and down one flight of stairs, then go through the double doors in front of you and turn left into the Demonstration Room. There will be several Quekett notices at relevant spots to help guide you.
Lift access
At street level, next to the desk where bags are checked, there is a lift that will take you to the mezzanine floor below the Flett Theatre. Press the M button in the lift. You still need to walk up one flight of stairs to reach the Flett Theatre and then down one flight to the Demonstration Room.
There is lift access direct to the floor of the Demonstration Room, but you need to be accompanied by someone with the necessary keys. On leaving the lift, turn right and go through the double doors, and then the Demonstration Room is through the double doors on your left.
You can use the lift to go down from the Demonstration Room or the Flett Theatre to street level.
