Unless otherwise stated, all QMC gossip meetings and workshops in 2021 will take place in the PA135 Meeting Room at the Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD. Access is via the Staff Entrance on Exhibition Road, and there is step-free access using a lift. The closest Underground station is South Kensington, which is on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines.

The M. C. Cooke Lecture, the L. V. Martin Lecture and the Presidential Address are normally held in the Neil Chalmers Seminar Room in the Orange Zone of the Natural History Museum.

Non-members are usually welcome at Quekett meetings, but please check with the Meetings Secretary.

The Quekett sales event, with individual members’ sales tables and dealers’ stands; get there in the morning for the best bargains. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day for a small charge. Car park in front of the Centre. Non-members are welcome. Hall available from 9:30 a.m. for sellers to set up their tables. Display of photographs, slides, artwork and videos, plus technical exhibits, demonstrations and lectures (live and streamed via Zoom).
11:30 a.m. Lecture “Electron microscopes in the garage: a new dimension in home microscopy”, by Dave Furness. This lecture will include some red/green stereo anaglyphs, so if you are watching from home and have some red/green glasses you might want to get them to hand.
2:30 p.m. Lecture “Surviving the elements: A microscopical study of a remarkably well-preserved 470 million year old shallow marine fossil assemblage from the summit of Mount Qomolangma (Mount Everest)”, by Owen Green

Gossip event arranged by the Eastern Counties Microscopy Study Group and the Iceni Microscopy Study Group with exhibits and gossip in the morning, and presentations and/or a quiz in the afternoon.
