Excursion to Warnham Local Nature Reserve  THIS EVENT WAS CANCELLED
Visit to the interesting and varied nature reserve, off Warnham Road, Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 2RA.  The Visitor Centre will be available to set up equipment and examine the catch from the dipping ponds. There is a free car park. Closest station is Horsham, 20 to 25 minutes walk.

Wimbledon Common Open Day
Quekett members will be demonstrating microscopy to the public in the Information Centre (SW19 5NR) on Wimbledon Common as part of our outreach programme. There is a free car park and the Windmill Tearooms near the Centre. Short walk from the 93 bus route (alight at Parkside Hospital). The Open Day features wildlife, craft and charity stalls, birds of prey, reptiles, farm animals, farm machinery and arena events.

Pool in Wharfedale is a village 10 miles north of Leeds city centre and 2 miles east of Otley. A spacious hall, with power points and kitchen. Exhibits, sales, gossip and lectures. Joint meeting with Northamptonshire Natural History Society, The Humfrey Rooms, 10 Castilian Terrace, Northampton, NN1 1LD
Our theme will be botanical sections led by our resident botanist Mike Asquith, and will provide both beginners and more experienced microscopists with an opportunity to make stained slides using LOCA as the principal mountant.  We hope by the end of the session that all participants will be able to take home with them at least a dozen finished slides from the workshop.  the event is FREE to members of the QMC.  Please contact Mike Gibson to book a place.
