Programme

Unless otherwise stated, all QMC gossip meetings and workshops in 2018 will take place in the PA135 Meeting Room at the Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD. Access is via the Staff Entrance on Exhibition Road, and there is step-free access using a lift. The closest Underground station is South Kensington, on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines.

The M. C. Cooke Lecture and the L. V. Martin Lecture will be held in the Neil Chalmers Seminar Room in the Orange Zone of the Natural History Museum.

Non-members are usually welcome at Quekett meetings, but please check with the Meetings Secretary.

Display of photographs (and artwork and videos) and family-oriented demonstrations in the foyer of the Flett Theatre. More technical displays and demonstrations in the PA135 Meeting Room, for members and invited guests.
Quekett members can download an invitation for their guests. Quekett members should be able to use the Staff Entrance on Exhibition Road if they show their membership card.

Pool in Wharfedale is a village 10 miles north of Leeds city centre and 2 miles east of Otley. A spacious hall, with power points and kitchen. Exhibits, sales, gossip and lectures. Tea and coffee are available. Three pubs in the village all do food.

The Quekett sales event, with individual member’s sales tables and dealers’ stands; get there in the morning for the best bargains. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day for a small charge. Small car park adjacent to the churchyard. Non-members are welcome. Hall available from 9:30 a.m. for sellers to set up their tables.

Turville Memorial Hall, Welford Road, Husbands Bosworth, Leicestershire, LE17 6JX, 6 miles East of Lutterworth on the A4304. The hall is on the junction of the A4304 and the A5199.
The venue has only a few power points, so extension leads should be brought if you need power. If equipment has not been PAT tested, it can be done on the day, free of charge.
Tea and coffee are available. A public house across the road does food.

Wimbledon Common Open Day
Quekett members will be demonstrating microscopy to the public in the Information Centre (SW19 5NR) on Wimbledon Common as part of our outreach programme. There is a free/donation car park and the Windmill Tearooms near the Centre.
The Open Day features wildlife, craft and charity stalls, birds of prey, reptiles, farm animals, farm machinery and arena events.
