Programme

Unless otherwise stated, all QMC gossip meetings and workshops in 2018 will take place in the PA135 Meeting Room at the Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD. Access is via the Staff Entrance on Exhibition Road, and there is step-free access using a lift. The closest Underground station is South Kensington, on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines.

The M. C. Cooke Lecture and the L. V. Martin Lecture will be held in the Neil Chalmers Seminar Room in the Orange Zone of the Natural History Museum.

Non-members are usually welcome at Quekett meetings, but please check with the Meetings Secretary.

Postal Microscopical Society – AGM (and exhibits, gossip, sales and lectures)
Turville Memorial Hall, Welford Road, Husbands Bosworth, Leicestershire, LE17 6JX, 6 miles East of Lutterworth on the A4304. The hall is on the junction of the A4304 and the A5199.
The venue has only a few power points, so extension leads should be brought if you need power. If equipment has not been PAT tested, it can be done on the day, free of charge.

Eastbrookend Country Park meeting
Second excursion to this 84-hectare park and The Chase Local Nature Reserve, collecting from ponds and invertebrate areas, plus exhibits, demonstrations and gossip. A day of family-oriented microscopy. Tea and coffee available, bring packed lunch or go for a pub lunch, plenty of parking.

Lancashire Science Festival
For this family day, the Manchester Microscopical & Natural History Society will have a stand on the 1st floor of the Victoria Building, Fylde Road, Preston, PR1 2HE. There will be microscopes for people to use. Exhibits will include fabrics patterned with microscopical images, old microscopes, scientific instruments and chemistry sets to show the history of science as a hobby, and science as a design medium with the printed fabrics.
