Programme

Unless otherwise stated, all QMC gossip meetings and workshops in 2017 will take place in the PA 135 Meeting Room at the Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD. Access is via the Staff Entrance on Exhibition Road, and there is step-free access using a lift. The closest Underground station is South Kensington, on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines.

The M. C. Cooke Lecture, the L. V. Martin Lecture and the Presidential Address will be held in the Neil Chalmers Seminar Room in the Orange Zone of the Natural History Museum.

Non-members are usually welcome at meetings, but please check with the Meetings Secretary.

The venue has only a few power points, so extension leads should be brought if you need power. If equipment has not been PAT tested, it can be done on the day, free of charge.

Eastbrookend Country Park meeting
First excursion to this 84-hectare park and The Chase Local Nature Reserve, collecting from ponds and invertebrate areas, plus exhibits, demonstrations and gossip. A day of family-oriented microscopy. Tea and coffee available, bring packed lunch or go for a pub lunch, plenty of parking.

Demonstrations (including automated stacking), exhibition and visits to David Spears’ SEM lab in the morning, presentations, discussions and gossip in the afternoon.

Sunday 18th is the main day with structured walks and talks, and Quekett members will be in the Information Centre (SW19 5NR) on Wimbledon Common providing microscopes for viewing the specimens found on the Commons, as part of our outreach programme.
