The Quekett Journal of Microscopy
The Quekett Journal of Microscopy is printed twice yearly in June and December. It publishes articles and papers on any microscopical topics that may be of interest to members. These include technical innovations, historical studies, reviews of subjects with strong connections to microscopy, and reports of research projects which employ microscopical techniques. Technical papers are usually formatted in a style typical of academic journals, while articles of a general nature can be more flexible in their layout. For examples, see Contents of Recent Journal Issues and Selected Articles from the Journal. Potential contributors are invited to contact the Editor, who will happily provide advice and encouragement – please use the Contact Form below. Guidance notes for authors are available on request, and are printed at the back of every Journal issue).
In its previous guises as the Journal of the Quekett Microscopical Club (1868–1966) and Microscopy (1966–1993), the Journal has been published in an unbroken run since 1868 (which is a year longer than Nature). Journal issues from 1868 up to 2012 are available digitally. They provide a unique historical archive of papers and articles on all aspects of microscopy.
In addition to being received by members, The Quekett Journal of Microscopy is taken by a number of scientific societies and libraries. It is available to non-members for £35 per annum in Europe and the UK, and £45 (or the current US dollar equivalent) elsewhere in the world. Subscription enquiries should be directed to [email protected]
