Festival of Geology

The Festival of Geology organised by the Geologists’ Association had to be held online this year because of the COVID-19 epidemic and included a section for Local Groups and Societies Stalls where the Quekett and many other organisations displayed information about themselves. Pam Hamer prepared this presentation about the geological activities of Quekett members.

Fossil diatoms from Oamaru
Arrangement of fossil Oamaru diatoms on a slide made by Steve Beats. The diatomite deposit at Oamaru in New Zealand dates from the late Eocene to the early Oligocene period.
